Making God’s Word part of your daily life.
(If you are just jumping into this series, click here to start at the beginning.)
God is the author of order. All of creation was established upon it. From the rhythm of day and night to the seasons, the tides, and the way life itself functions. Order is woven into everything God designed.
Scripture tells us plainly:
“For God is not a God of disorder but of peace.”
—1 Corinthians 14:33
If we desire order in our lives, we must learn from the One who is the very essence of it.
As we study God’s Word and grow in relationship with Him, we don’t just gain knowledge – we are shaped. We begin to think differently, choose differently, and live differently. And that includes how we order our days.
When I think about order, I often think about Jesus.
Consider the demands on His time. His public ministry lasted only three years. The needs were endless; sick to heal, crowds to teach, disciples to train, people to comfort. He had the power to do everything.
And yet… He didn’t.
Jesus was never frazzled.
He was never rushing.
He never wished for more hours in the day.
Some things were left undone, not because they weren’t good, but because they weren’t the priority. They were outside the mission the Father had given Him.
Jesus lived with clarity because He lived in alignment with the Father.
That’s such a gentle but powerful reminder for us.
Instead of wishing for more hours in the day so we can get through our entire to-do list, what if we asked God to help us prioritize?
Everything is not essential.
We were never meant to do it all.
We were created to do what is essential from our Father’s perspective, not our own.
And we can only know what that is when we know Him more.
Order doesn’t come from tighter schedules or better systems alone. It comes from daily surrender—inviting God to order our days, every single day.
So this week, I want to challenge you to sit with this truth:
Order can only come through a growing relationship with Jesus.
And that relationship grows when we spend daily time in His Word.
Not perfectly.
Not for hours.
Just consistently.
Next week, we’ll tackle the very real question many of you are already asking:
How is this even possible when my schedule is already full and overflowing, and I can’t add one more thing?
We’ll talk about how making time with God doesn’t add pressure, but actually brings freedom.
For now, begin here.
Pray this simple prayer “God, prepare my heart for the shifts You want to make in my commitments, and help me trust You as You bring order to my life.”
Hang in there, you are making progress.
